Low Profile PCI Graphics Cards

If you have a Dell Dimension or Dell Optiplex book-pc / slim-line workstation and need to expand the graphic capabilities or video output you may have difficulty finding a suitable low-profile graphics card to fit.

The majority of available low-profile cards are AGP.

The Dimension 3100x features PCI-Express slot, but it's a "non standard" PCI-Express x1 mini slot so you wont find many any affordable graphics cards from the major e-tailers in the UK.

The Nvidia GEForce MX4000 PCI card is available from ebuyer.com and comes with a swappable low-profile plate for the card. You can identify it in a green "X" shaped retail box.

Cheap, and does the job at adding a 2nd video output (in addition to the on-board VGA)
